That same year year, a small group of committed Christians started a new church in Louisville--the South Louisville Christian Church! Now, 114 years later, another group of committed Christians continues the legacy of faithfully serving Christ in a very different world.
During the past 114 years, there have been many trials and challenges! With God's contiued blessing and favor, the ministry of SLCC has not just survived and persevered, but has grown and thrived through:
World War I,
the 1929 Stock Market Crash,
the Great Depression,
the devastating 1937 Louisville Flood,
World War II, Korea and Vietnam,
and now, the new trials and uncertainties of the 21st Century!
We are committed to faithfully serve God in the 21st Century, and with His love, protection and care we can face whatever the future holds!
Join Us on Celebration Sunday,

Reggie Thomas has one consuming passion; one dream; one goal; one thought; and that is to evangelize! Evangelize! Evangelize! Like Paul who said, "This ONE thing I do . . .", there is one thing on his mind, evangelism! This includes preaching the ancient apostolic gospel and establishing the New Testament church in every nation in the world. It has already taken him into 53 countries, where he has been mightily used to win the lost in their thousands, and establish the Church of Christ in numerous villages, towns and cities across the globe. His untiring efforts and unselfish giving of himself in this difficult and often dangerous ministry of world evangelism, are an inspiration and challenge to all who have had the privilege of knowing him and working with him. He has been blessed with a keen mind, a warm personality, and a gripping voice that projects his deep sincerity. In the midst of great success and honor, he has maintained a humble and caring spirit.
May his tribe increase! It is also my prayer that those seeking God with all their heart, through reading his sermons and come to know the truth which alone can set us free.
