The ancient Roman Empire was known for many innovations, not the least of which was their system of roads built to connect Rome with other cities. The roads were unique in that they were built as straight as possible and had extremely solid foundations. Some of the original 50,000 miles of roads still exist even today!
The Bible is laid on a good, true foundation which has lasted for centuries. It maps out a road, “the way” through this life to a place called "Heaven." Jesus said, “For wide is the gate and broad is the road that leads to destruction, and many enter through it. But small is the gate and narrow is the road that leads to life, and only a few find it.” Matt. 7:13,14. “I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.” John 14:6. However, unlike all roads leading to Rome, only one road leads to Jesus, salvation and eternity in Heaven.
You can find Jesus using just the book of Romans! Take your Bible and begin reading at Romans 3:23-25 (all have sinned); now go to Romans 6:23 (the penalty and the gift); then go to Romans 5:8 (while we were still sinners); next go to Romans 10:9,10(believe and confess); finally go to Romans 6:3,4 (baptized into a new life). If you believe what God has said, then let your walk up the road that leads to Heaven begin. It is a journey that will last the rest of your life, and it ends with Jesus' arms around you and hearing His voice saying, "Well done good and faithful servant."
The 12th chapter in the book of Romans describes living and loving as a new Christian, and is a guide for new (and old) believers. Do you need a second chance, a new life? Now you know how to have it. This information was placed here with a prayer for you, that God's Spirit will touch your heart with encouragement and peace, giving you the strength and courage you need to begin your new life. South Louisville Christian Church will help you.
"He gives strength to the weary and increases the power of the weak. Even youths grow tired and weary, and young men stumble and fall; but those who hope in the LORD will renew their strength. They will soar on wings like eagles; they will run and not grow weary, they will walk and not be faint." Isaiah 40:29-31
