After the church unification plan was first announced by letter, the SLCC elders followed up by providing members the backstory on how this "marriage" proposal had come about. The following is a recording of that session from Sunday morning August 23rd. Our hope is for it to help you spiritually sense how God is leading us forward to be better together:
When the elders of SECC first approached the SLCC elders they simply advised God had put something on their hearts that they wanted us to pray about.
During those weeks of prayer and fasting that followed, God truly did put the same vision on each one of our hearts! We in turn have asked the people of South Louisville to pray for God to show you the future He has planned--Do you not perceive it?
Interestingly, the sermon below was preached by Kyle Idleman at SECC well over a year ago, God was putting this vision into his heart even then . . . listen for God's still small voice:
All SLCC members (18 years or older) who would like to vote are to do so on Sunday, September 13th immediately following the in-person worship service. Ballots will be provided to those attending the Special Meeting; or, if you would prefer not to be inside, ballots will be provided to members who drive in to the main parking lot--the audio of the service and meeting will be broadcast on radio 88.7 FM. This is an important moment in the future of South Louisville and you are an important part of it!
If you cannot attend to vote in person, you may use a proxy voter. The form below is for you to give someone else the permission to vote for you in your absence. However, your vote must still be received by the end of the Special Meeting on September 13th (see the attached form below):
"My prayer is not for them alone, I pray for those who will believe in Me through their message, that all of them may be one, Father, just as You are in Me and I am in You. May they also be in us so that the world may believe that You have sent Me." -- Jesus
